Write reports in 'troff' with the 'ms' macros and R code chunks between '.SS' and '.SE', the way 'eqn' and 'tbl' blocks sit in a document, and turn them into PDF, PostScript or a terminal draft with GNU 'groff'. 'knitr' runs the code, and its results can also be placed in the text.
